Do you have what it takes to write Bites for Freya’s Bower? (FB publishes erotica and erotic romances. Be sure to read the guidelines on site too.) We’re willing to give you the plot ideas too! Or, if you prefer, present your idea to us, and if we like it, you've got a deal!

If you’d like to give this a try, read on because Freya’s Bower wants to see what you’ve got.

We are looking for authors to write Bites for specific erotic or erotic romance categories. They are:

Paranormal Romance

Military Themed Novels

Fantasy

Chick Fiction

Capture/Bondage

Contemporary

Lesbian/Gay

Futuristic/Sci-fi

Historical

Mystery

Suspense

Time Travel

Western

Werewolf/Vampire

Interested parties must choose his or her category above and submit a writing sample of no more than 500 words of your best prose. If you are accepted, we will provide you with a plot and protagonist prompt. Each accepted author must sign an agreement for both first/rough draft and final draft deadlines of said manuscript.

All accepted writers will be offered the standard 40% royalty contract with Freya’s Bower; however, the first four accepted writers will also receive a brand new copy of a writer’s book, either paperback or hardcover. In addition, the first, and only the first accepted author, will receive not only one of the titles below, but a nice writer’s journal and gel pen set. The titles awarded are:

Novelist’s Essential Guide to Creating Plot by J. Madison Davis
Novelist’s Essential Guide to Crafting Scenes by J. Madison Davis
The Writer’s Digest Writing Clinic, Expert Help for Improving Your Work
Keys to Great Writingby Stephen Wilbers

Calls for entries are open now and close midnight, April 22nd.

What are Bites?

Bites are collections of two short, short stories with an underlying theme running throughout both stories. Whether that theme is the same protagonist name for both stories, two vampire stories, two stories set in the Old West, two... You get the picture. The only difference is their length. Both stories combined can be no shorter than 6,000 and no longer than 8,000. So, if one story is 1,500 words, the second must be 4,500 words or more, but cannot exceed 6,500 words. All the same Freya’s Bower submission guidelines apply.

All mini e-books accepted for publishing by Freya's Bower will be subject to editing. If you are not open to suggestions and/or recommendations, do not submit. However, we will keep British quotes and spelling provided it is consistent throughout the work.

Send your publication history, if any (all writers welcome), and 500-word writing sample to submit@freyasbower.com and type "Bites Based On A Prompt" in the subject line.

Come on! Let’s see if you’ve got what it takes to craft a new world with new people base on a mere idea!

Wild Child Publishing.com Launches Sister Site Freya’s Bower

Los Angeles, CA -- March 8, 2006 -- Wild Child Publishing.com announced the launch of its subsidiary, sister site Freya’s Bower on March 5th. Freya’s Bower  publishes high quality erotic romance e-books. With two erotica short story collections available for purchase and more in the works, Freya’s Bower looks to make its mark in the erotic romance market.

Owner, Marci Baun, and her dedicated staff of editors are very excited about the debut of their new site. Ms. Baun says that her intent with the design of Freya’s Bower was to be “an elegantly simple site with beautiful graphics that’s easy to navigate -- a site that puts a person in the mood not only to read erotica but to write it too.” From the comments she has been receiving from visitors, Ms. Baun believes she has accomplished her goal.

Freya’s Bower offers higher than average pay rates to their authors (40% of the e-book price compared to), provides ISBNs for all books, has an editing staff more than willing to work with their authors and encourages new, unpublished writers to submit.

Each month, they will be conducting a contest where one lucky reader receives one advertised e-book for free. To enter, all the reader needs to do is send an email to admin@freyasbower.com with “monthly contest” in the subject line. This month it is “Woman of Unknown Origins” by Faith Bicknell-Brown.

Although Freya’s Bower has only been online for a few days, it is already creating a buzz in the e-book publishing community.

A preview of Freya's Bower

Hey everyone!

It's Marci. I don't come around here much as I try to leave that to Barry, Faith or Allison. It gives us a bit of different twist on WCP and Freya's Bower. Well, Freya's Bower is online March 5th. Since all of you have been wonderful to us, I thought you might like a little taste of what Freya's Bower will be like... absolutely gorgeous!

Here she is:

Beautiful, huh? Well, the rest of the site is even better.

Freya's Bower to Launch In A Few Days!

It doesn't seem possible, but WCP's erotica/romantica division, Freya's Bower, will launch the first week of March.

I hope that any of you who have an erotica novel or a romantica novel will consider submitting your work to FB.

I have an e-book coming out with FB called Woman of Unknown Origin. It's a collection of my previously published erotica/romantica stories with a few new ones thrown in the mix. I'm writing an Author's Note to go with it and have been collecting answers from all over about what's erotic and if one knows the difference between erotic fiction and porn fiction.

Stop by HERE and leave your answers if you have a moment.
